For 20 years, DESIFEST has been about more than music.

What started as a vision to celebrate South Asian music and culture has grown into a community where artists, families, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and supporters come together year after year. Every performance, every conversation, and every shared moment has helped shape the festival into what it is today.
This year, as we celebrated our 20th anniversary, we were reminded that the true heart of DESIFEST isn't just what's happening on stage. It's the smiles in the crowd, children dancing with their families, friends reconnecting over great food, artists cheering each other on backstage, and volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes to make every detail come together.
Over the years, thousands of people have walked through DESIFEST. Some came for the music, some to discover new artists, and others simply to spend time with family and friends. No matter what brought them here, they became part of the DESIFEST story.
We've watched emerging artists perform on our stage before reaching new heights in their careers. We've welcomed local businesses and food vendors who continue to return each year. We've seen volunteers become lifelong members of our community. Most importantly, we've built lasting relationships with people who believe in the power of bringing communities together through music and culture.
