Code of Conduct
DESIFEST is a celebration of South Asian culture, music, and community. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for every attendee, artist, volunteer, and staff member — regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or background.
We have zero tolerance for:
- Harassment, intimidation, or threatening behaviour of any kind
- Physical violence or any threat of violence
- Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or disability
- Sexual harassment or unwanted physical contact
- Hate speech, slurs, or derogatory language
- Vandalism or damage to property
- Possession or use of prohibited items (see Security)
What to do if you experience or witness a violation:
If you feel unsafe or witness misconduct, please immediately:
- Contact any DESIFEST staff member wearing a yellow STAFF vest or wristband
- Visit the Safety Hub (marked on the event map)
- Approach any on-site Toronto Police Services officer
All reports are taken seriously and will be handled with discretion. Violators will be removed from the event without warning. We reserve the right to deny re-entry.
